Stella Louise Hartman, 77, of Galena, Kansas died at 1:27 A.M. May 28, 2025 at Mercy Hospital at Joplin, Missouri.

Mrs. Hartman was born August 21, 1947 at Riverton, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Treva Dorothy Smith Channel. Stella was a homemaker who lived in Galena most of her life. She was raised in Galena and graduated from Riverton High School. She later attended Pittsburg State University and St. Mary’s Of Woods College in Indiana and received a degree in art therapy and psychology. She married Bob Hartman on March 9, 1963 at Galena, Kansas. She was a member of Pittsburg State University Alumni Association and Christ Point Church in Galena. Survivors include her husband Bob of the home, three daughters, Dorothy (Mike) Howard of Baxter Springs, Barbara Hartman of Galena, and Sarah (Terryl) Hartman of Galena, three sons, Bobby (Amber) Hartman Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael Hartman of Galena, and Patrick Hartman of Baxter Springs, two brothers, David Channel of Claremore, Oklahoma and Charles Channel of Illinois, two sisters, Myrna Hartman of Commerce, Oklahoma and Beverly Prather of Claremore, Oklahoma, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Mary Lewis, Orleana Rookstool, Elsie Cole, and Loraine Fry, and two brothers, Robert and Herbert Channel.

Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral in Arma, Kansas with Pastor Josh Pennington officiating. Burial will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday prior to the funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
