Mary Ann Bartelli, 96, of Frontenac, Kansas passed away peacefully at 4:05 A.M. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arma, Kansas.

Mrs. Bartelli was born September 9, 1928 in Crested Butte, Colorado to Martin (Mike) Spritzer and Leeda (Lilly ) Yetzbacher Spritzer. From Colorado her parents moved to Emporia, Kansas and then to Frontenac where she became a lifelong resident. Her mother died when she was 5 years old. After moving to Frontenac her father married Julia Vacca where he eventually owned and operated The Frontenac Bakery. Mary Ann graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1946.  She married Danny Bartelli on August 8, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. Mr. Bartelli preceded her in death in April 1990. Mary Ann worked at the Francis Fly Company (Pittsburg), The Kress Store, J.C. Penney and finally the Frontenac Bakery until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, the American Legion Auxiliary in Arma, the Eagles Auxiliary in West Mineral and the S.N.P.J. Lodge #225 in Arma. Mary Ann was an avid bowler for 50 years and loved sewing, knitting, crafts, cooking, playing cards, and dancing. She was also a Den Mother for Cub Scouts in Pittsburg. She is survived by her three sons, Bruce (Donna) Bartelli of Frontenac, Danny Ray Bartelli of Gunnison, Colorado, Bart Bartelli of Winfield, Kansas, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Jeffrey Bartelli, a grandson, Dalton Bartelli, and her brother, Michael Spritzer.

Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma with Father Josh Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. Friday at the Bedene Chapel preceding the funeral services. Private graveside services will follow the service. The family requests no flowers, but contributions can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.

    What a special lady! She would always give me pictures of my grandparent’s & other family members when they lived in Crested Butte CO as well.
