Harold E. Goyette, 96, of Arma, Kansas, formerly of Franklin, Kansas died at 12:07 P.M. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center at Arma, Kansas.
Mr. Goyette was born September 10th, 1928 at Elsmore, Kansas the son of James C. and Bessie B. Franklin Goyette. Harold was a retired construction worker and was a resident of the Elsmore area till moving to Franklin in 1971. He graduated from Elsmore High School and later attended Pittsburg State University. He married Rose Dernosek on April 10, 1971 at Girard, Kansas. Mrs. Goyette preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict receiving the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, the Korean Service Medal with three gold stars, the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and Korean War Service medal. He was a member of the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion at Arma, the S.N.P.J. Lodge 225, and the AARP. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rose, three brothers, Vernon, Orbile, and Dave Goyette, and a sister, Valentine Penny.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Pastor Randy Beeman officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bedene Funeral Home 10 to 11 A.M. Monday prior to the funeral service. The Ft. Riley Burial Detail will conduct graveside flag folding services. Memorials may be made to the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
