Frankie Lee Polchlopek 71, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 10:28 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Via Christi Village at Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mr. Polchlopek was born June 10, 1951 at Girard, Kansas the son of Rudy E. Polchlopek and Juanita Sinkovic. Frankie was raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School the Class of 1969. He later attended Pittsburg State University then served with the Kansas Army National Guard. After serving he established Polchlopek Drywall and Painting where he left his mark on many of the most beautiful homes in Pittsburg and surrounding communities until retiring in 2018. He lived in the Pittsburg area most of his life. He married Charla Keeton on August 12, 1978 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Together Frankie and Charla enjoyed traveling to many exotic destinations where they enjoyed scuba diving, deep sea fishing and making new friends along the way. Frankie had many hobbies including golden glove boxing, skydiving, hunting, fishing, bowling and the casino. Frank never met a stranger and was a battery that never ran down and especially enjoyed being a Dad and Grandpa. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, the Ft. Scott Scottish Rites, and the Masonic Lodge and Mirza Shrine in Pittsburg. He was also active in Ducks Unlimited. Survivors include his wife, Charla of the home, three daughters, Lindsay (Michael) Halsey and their children, Memphis, Monroe, Myer, and Malone, Leigh (Adam) Niegsch and their child, Hollis, and Jessica Polchlopek all of Pittsburg, brother, Randy Sinkovic of Pittsburg, and two sisters, Tina (Polchlopek) Whetstone of Arma and Vicki Sinkovic of Roeland Park, Kansas and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rudy Polchlopek, sister, Sharon Friend, and grandson, Ryatt Niegsch.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Rev. Dan Moss officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Frontenac, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Sunday at the Bedene Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
