Dorothy “Dottie” Guiles, 92, of rural Pittsburg, Kansas died at 4:03 A.M. April 9, 2025 at her home.

Mrs. Guiles was born February 3, 1933 in Barton County, Missouri the daughter of Don and Lila Vankirk Sipes. She was raised in Pittsburg and Arma and graduated from Arma High School. After moving to California Dottie worked for Hager Company. She enjoyed bowling, oil painting, ceramics, and motorcycle riding. When moving back to Kansas she and her husband Bill started their own business making doll molds called Bill-Mac Molds and traveled the United States. She married Bill Hudson Guiles on August 22, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Guiles preceded her in death. She was a member of the Elks in Pittsburg, Eastern Star in Pittsburg, Businesswomen’s Association, and the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Bill and Dottie took trips to Alaska, Mexico, Paris, France, and Branson, Missouri. Survivors include two sons, Billy Guiles Jr. of Pittsburg and Jeff Guiles and wife Diana  of Pittsburg, three grandchildren, Keith and wife Carlita and Dustin and his wife Elise and Jessica Guiles, and six great grandchildren, Alex, Payton, Ana, James, Ale, and Lili, one brother Mack Sipes of Greenfield, Missouri, a brother-in-law, Dan Hudson of Branson, two sisters-in-laws, Dixie Karn of Texas and Doris Guiles of California, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beloved Husband Bill, two brothers, Lee and Dennis Sipes and twin sisters, Betty Jean Carter and Lila Deane Bishop.

Mrs. Guiles has been cremated according to her wishes. Memorial services will be at 12 P.M. Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas. Burial of the cremains will follow at 1:30 P.M. Thursday following the memorial services at the National Cemetery at Ft. Scott, Kansas with her beloved husband Bill Guiles. The family suggests memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
