Bobby Joe Burns, 72, of Arma, Kansas died at 4 A.M. Sunday, November 2, 2025 at his home in Arma.

Bobby was born February 7, 1953 at Pittsburg, Kansas the son of Robert Harvey and Josephine Verga Burns. Bobby was a carpenter who was a lifelong resident of Arma. He attended Arma schools and graduated from Northeast High School in the Class of 1971. He worked for Burns and DeCuyper Lumber and Home Center Construction. He served in the US Navy for 7 years as an electrician. He was a member of the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion at Arma. Bob was a natural story teller always ready with a joke to make you smile. His greatest passions were his family and fishing. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. Survivors include two daughters, Alicia Burns of Arma and Ashley (Virgil) Apigo of Houston, Texas, a son, Robert Joseph Burns of Houston, Texas, one grandchild, Aurora Apigo of Houston, Texas, four sisters, Rosemary Edwards of Joplin, Missouri, Cheryl (Lloyd) Stolte of Girard, Paula (Kenny) Baker of Akron, Ohio, and Beverly (Alan) Burns of Mindenmines, Missouri, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jennie Weyant, and two brothers, John D. Burns and Charles Burns.

Private family services are planned. Friends may call at the home at 901 E. Melvin in Arma after 12 P.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
