Billy Joe “Bill” Neet, 79, of Arma, Kansas died at 3:40 P.M. Saturday April 22, 2023 at Medicalodges of Frontenac in Frontenac, Kansas.

Mr. Neet was born May 27, 1943 at Girard, Kansas the son of Joseph and Marie Podobnik Neet. Bill was a carpenter who lived in Crawford County most of his life. He was raised in Girard and graduated from Girard High School in the Class of 1961 where he played football. Bill was Bob’s Grill #1 Customer. He married Gayle Galichia on September 1, 1979 at Arma, Kansas. They later divorced but was friends for life. He was a past member of the Mirza Shrine. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy serving as a Navy Seal. Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn Vorhies of Gladstone, Missouri and Linda Harris of Salem, Oregon, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Neet and his step-father, Theo Evans.

Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. Thursday at the Bedene Chapel in Arma. The Navy Burial Detail will conduct graveside flag folding services. The family suggest memorials to the Girard American Legion. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
