Billie J. Budd Sr., 86, of Arcadia, Kansas died at 7:15 A.M. Friday, April 18, 2025 at Mercy Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas.

Mr. Budd was born February 17, 1939 at El Dorado Springs, Missouri the son of Wanda Floyd and Naomi Nelle Ewing Budd. Billie was a retired journeyman for Mid-Continental Restorations. He was raised in Richards, Missouri and graduated from Richards High School in the Class of 1957. He also worked for Coleman’s in Wichita, he owned and operated Budd Garage in Bronson, and later worked for Mackie Clemmons Coal Company. He loved his family dearly. He raced stock cars for 30 years, was a gunsmith, an avid hunter and was a NASCAR fan. He married Barbara Smith on November 23, 1996 at Garland, Kansas. Mrs. Budd survives at the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Terri (Bryan) Hoffman of Mulberry and Cindy Schroeder of Ft. Scott, a son, Billie J. (Vicki) Budd Jr. of Franklin, three brothers, Albert Budd of Richards, Missouri, Elmer Budd and Clifford Budd both of Hannon, Missouri, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Wanda Horseman and Norma Jean Taylor, and a brother, Jimmy Budd.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kansas. Joshau Budd will give the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday prior to the Celebration of Life services.

Mr. Budd will be cremated following the services. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the Barton City Cemetery in rural Liberal, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
