Marilyn Kay Taylor, 58, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 11:34 P.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg Kansas.
Marilyn was born July 25, 1966 in Wellington, Kansas. The daughter of Aaron and Emma Jean Brackett-Kreutzer. Marilyn was raised in Frontenac and graduated from Frontenac High School in the class of 1984. She later attended Labette Community College and received her Associate degree. She worked as a case manager for Mosaic in Southeast Kansas in Pittsburg. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac and the Sacred Heart Altar Society, where she served as treasurer. She had been a resident of Frontenac most of her life. Survivors include two sons, Christopher Taylor of Columbia, Missouri and Conner Taylor and his fiancé, Avery Johnson, of Pittsburg; her sister, Deann Schamerhorn of Pittsburg; uncles, Alan and Joyce Kreutzer, and Chester Merando; cousins, Todd Merando, Jon and Mandy Merando, and David and Stacey Merando and their families; and her best friend Debbie Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Shaun Schamerhorn; and aunt, Virginia Merando.
Marilyn Kay has been cremated according to her wishes. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, Kansas with Father Josh Evans as the celebrant. Rosary will be said at 10 A.M. Monday at the church prior to mass. The family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Altar Society or Mosaic in Southeast Kansas. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E Washington Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
