James Luther Pryor, 77, of Mindenmines, Missouri died at 9:29 P.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023 at his home.
Mr. Pryor was born February 2, 1946 at Mulberry, Kansas the son of Merle and Vida Prince Pryor. Jim was later raised by his step-father, Elmer “Jar” Prettyman and mother Vida. Jim was truck driver and welder. He also taught a truck driving course at Ft. Scott Community College for 18 years. He was raised in Mulberry and graduated from Mulberry High School in the Class of 1964. He married Charla M. Quick on February 27, 1965 at Arcadia, Kansas. Survivors include his wife Charla of the home, a son, Toby (Christy) Pryor of Mindenmines, Missouri, six grandchildren, Kylie (Ryan) Doyle, Cassy (Jon) Buckle, Kevin (Tiffany) Lawrence, Kelli (Jacob) Frayer, Kimberly Lawrence, and Hailey Huff, and eleven great grandchildren, Liberty, Milleigh, Adaline, Brian, Conner, Desmond, Emmett, Emma, Kaleb, Kimber, Rowyn, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Pryor, two brothers, Merle (Pooch) and Ted (Moon) Pryor, and three sisters, Mary Lou Mapes, Jeanette Cline, and infant sister, Jeanenne Pryor.
Mr. Pryor has been cremated according to his wishes. Memorial services will be at 1 P.M. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Rev. Dan Moss officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 P.M. Saturday March 11, 2023 prior to the memorial services at the Bedene Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
