Donald Eugene “Don” Beye, a long-time resident of Pittsburg, passed away September 11, 2024 at Arma, KS. Don was born on April 9, 1928 to Ida (Briles) & Leo Beye at their home outside Augusta, Kansas.

Don was a proud military veteran serving in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. During a period of over 28 years he served his country.  He was a veteran of World War II and the Vietnam War.  He retired in 1974, with over 20 years of active duty as a Tec Sargeant.  He was adept at many things: repairing small engines, construction, wood work, home repair, and making hand-sewn cross-stitch quilts to name only a few. Don was known to be ready to assist others in any way he could, big or small.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie, parents, Leo & Ida, his brother Bill, granddaughter, Melissa Flint Potter, grandson, Rodney Yates, former wives LaWanda & Elaine (mothers of his children), step-son-in-law, Bill Yoakam and nephews, Charles and Calvin Beye.  Surviving Don are his sister, Valetia (Harold) Arnold, children: Janice (Pete) Yates, Sharon (Ray) Flint, Steve (Nena) Beye and Terri (Bill) Hendricks and step-children: Art (Jane) Turigliatto and Bobbie Yoakam-Holt (Shane Holt). In addition, he is survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and many great- and great-great grandchildren and step-grandchildren, much-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Beye has been cremated. Graveside services for the cremains will be at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road in Leavenworth, Kansas. The Air Force Burial Detail will conduct full military graveside services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712
