Robert “Rob” Young, 67, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 9:15 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Mercy Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mr. Young was born October 26, 1957 at Ft. Scott, Kansas the son of George Allen and Daisy Davidson Young Jr. Rob was retired from the City of Pittsburg Water Maintance Department where he worked for 20 years. He graduated from Arcadia Grade School and later from Arma High School. He later attended Kansas State Teachers College, now Pittsburg State University, and received a electrical certificate. He lived in Ft. Scott, Arcadia, Austin, Texas, Frontenac and Pittsburg prior to retiring. He served in the United States Army for 4 years at Ft. Hood at Killeen, Texas and was honorably discharged. He married Teresa Lopez of Overland Park, Kansas and they later divorced. He later married Tina Rakestraw of Pittsburg, Kansas they also later divorced. Survivors include his mother, Daisy Dziadula of Pittsburg, two sons, James (Karen) Young of Lenexa, Kansas and Chris (Miranda) Young of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a daughter, Karen (Jeremy) Brooksler of Rogers, Arkansas, a brother, John (Lea) Young of Frontenac, a half sister, Christina Hamlet, three half brothers, Michael, Brian, and Tim Young, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Allen Young Jr., his step-father, John Dziadula, a sister, Lorri Wilhite, and two half brothers, Joe and Jim Young.
Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Pastor Donnie Talent officiating. Burial will be at the Sheffield Cemetery near Arcadia, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the Bedene Chapel in Arma, Kansas. Ft. Riley Burial Detail will conduct graveside flag folding services. The family suggests memorials to the Fold of Honor Memorial Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E.
