Larry D. Brown, 84, of Franklin, Kansas died at 2:16 A.M. Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Girard Medical Center in Girard, Kansas.

Mr. Brown was born June 3, 1941 at Neodesha, Kansas the son of Lonnie and Georgia Lelia Smith Brown. Larry was a retired farmer and coal miner and a lifelong Crawford County resident. He was raised in the Pittsburg area and graduated from College High School in the Class of 1960. He farmed most of his life and later worked for Alternate Fuels for 18 years. He later owned B & B Fencing Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma. Survivors include longtime partner, Catherine McDaniel of the home, two daughters, Mona (Joe) Walker of Joplin, Missouri and Melissa (Henderson) Colliers of Springfield, Missouri, two sons, Donnie (Teka) Brown and Keith (Andrea) Brown both of Perry, Florida, a sister, Norma June Booe of Pittsburg, a brother, Don Brown of Arma, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mardell Denning and Marjorie Manley, two infant sisters, Martha and Betty Jean Brown, and four brothers, George, Raymond, Bud, and Dale Brown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma with Father Daniel Vacca as the celebrant. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 6 P.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. following the rosary. The family suggests memorials to the Mirza Shriners Transportation Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
